Claire Cooper
Claire is a qualified registered teacher with over 20 years’ experience as a specialist in literacy and English as an Additional Language. Having taught both children and adults, she is aware of the implications of not having a strong foundation in literacy from an early age. Claire is a passionate educator devoted to helping students develop their skills as well as a love of reading and writing. She holds a Bachelor of Education (Honours), a Graduate Certificate in TESOL and Masters in Applied Linguistics. She is currently working as a literacy specialist teacher and as a lecturer in the Masters of Education program at Adelaide University. Her teaching is grounded in both established research and personal professional experience.
James Cooper
James is a qualified teacher with over 20 years' experience as a primary, secondary and university educator. Following an early-career in English literacy education and research, James went on to lecture in creative writing at Adelaide's Tabor College where he coordinates the Creative Writing and Communication Program. In 2022 he published his first novel for young adults, 'Something About Alaska', through MidnightSun Publishing. As a published author, academic and writing professional, James excels at sharing the joy of language and literature with young and old alike. His approach to teaching incorporates creative wordplay, close reading and collaborative writing, and is grounded in both established research and professional experience.
